The event consists of two presentations, by Dr. Matthew H. Edney, Director of the History of Cartography Project at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Osher Professor of Geography in the History of Cartography. John Mitchell, His Map, and the Eighteenth Century Culture of Geography, and 'The History of Cartography': The Challenges posed by the History of Maps in the Modern World (after 1650).
