Dwight Chapin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports that those who love sports memorabilia will not want to miss an auction being held by the family of Leo “the Lip” Durocher is slated for Saturday, August 20th:

Leo Durocher was a lot of things to a lot of people in his long and often-tempestuous baseball career, but this week, at least, the former Giants’ and Dodgers’ manager will be a focus of the sports-collecting community.

Nearly 90 items from an imposing array of artifacts put together by the man who was nicknamed “the Lip” during his six decades as a player, manager and coach in the big leagues…
